As a conscientious club we take our own levels of professionalism very seriously. Safeguarding is important to us and our safeguarding statement aims to address any immediate questions, however it should not be considered a replacement to any safeguarding policy or associated articles.
(We) Sanchin Aikido believe that everyone we encounter, regardless of age, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnic origin has the right to be protected from all forms of harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. We will not tolerate abuse and exploitation by staff or associated personnel and is committed to ensuring the effective prevention, reporting and response to any safeguarding concerns raised or detected.
Sanchin Aikido teach and work exclusively with persons aged 18 years and older. We do not routinely come into contact or offer classes to any persons aged below 18 years of age, nor do we offer classes to adults at risk at this time. Despite this, we view the guidance and principles behind safeguarding to be an essential part of providing a safe and welcoming environment for all and feel they contribute positively to holding all our members and instructors to the highest standards.
While we do not maintain a full safeguarding policy, we require all instructors to participate in safeguarding training and encourage all members to educate themselves in best practices.
